This coffee comes frome the Caficultores de Salgar from the Antioquia region. The community brings a small number of individual farmes that implement the practices best suited to the specific growing conditions of their farming plots.
The most important one, the Alonso Henao farm has an area of 17ha. 3ha dedicated to coffee, 10ha to grassland and 4ha to forest reserve. Alonso has 7 coffee lots: Lot 1 with 5000 plants of caturro since 2012, Lot 2 with 2000 plants of colombia, catimore, castillo varieties since 2014, lot 3 with 2000 plants of colombia, catimore, castillo varieties since 2015, lot 4 with 1500 plants of colombia, catimore, castillo varieties since 2015, lot 5 with 2000 plants of caturra - catimore, castillo varieties since 2015, lot 6 with 2000 plants of colombia variety since 2018 and lot 7 with 1500 plants of caturro, catimore and colombia varieties since 2012. They use guamo, plantain, avocado plants for shade. As additional source of income Alonso keeps bees and livestock. As well as corn, beans, yucca, avocado, home orchard for family consumtion. The soil has high organic matter content, clay loam texture, and acidic Ph. The farm implements integrated weeds management to favor the development of beneficial weeds that allow the physical, chemical, and microbiological properties of the soils to be preserved.
