Concrete house, in-house roastery, single-origin coffees freshly roasted every week. Open Thursday through Sunday — we close Monday-Wednesday because that's when we roast.

Where

Str. Institutul Medico-Militar 22, Sector 1, 010919, Bucharest. A few minutes walk from Piata Romana metro (M1/M2). The building is unmistakable — a custom-designed concrete house by architect Bogdan Gyemant-Selin.

Best times for a quiet visit: Thursday afternoon (work-friendly) or Sunday morning (brunch). Friday and Saturday evenings get busier.

What to order if it's your first time

Tell our team you're new to specialty coffee or visiting Bucharest — we'll guide you. Some starting points:

If you usually drink espresso: try our espresso, then ask for a tasting glass of a fruity origin like Tanzania or Honduras. Side by side, you'll feel the difference.
If you like fruity / floral coffees: ask for V60 with our Tanzania Nyasi Furaha. Brewing takes 4 minutes, worth it.
If you like full-bodied / chocolatey: ask for Brazil Sao Francisco filtered through French Press. Sweet, comforting.
For something refreshing in summer: cold brew over ice, or our seasonal espresso tonic.
If you can't decide: "surprise me" works perfectly here. We love when guests trust the team.

The roastery

The basement of the building houses our roastery — a Diedrich IR-12 drum roaster. We roast Monday through Wednesday. Most weeks, we run 3-5 batches of 1.5-2 kg each. That's why the cafe is closed those days — you can't roast properly while running a busy bar.

If you visit Thu-Sun and you're curious, ask the team — sometimes you can peek at the roastery between shifts. We host occasional roasting tours by request.
